Hello. I'd like to know if you are able to output links to random entries from a feed with JSON.

I've checked the documentation and it seems to be possible, but as I'm not good at javascript, I'm asking your help. :)

Omit top post in "recent posts" widget?

I use the "recent posts" widget from Beautiful Beta. I love the widget, but with one exception: it's redundant for it to show my most recent post, since the actual post shows up right next to it. Is there a way to modify the code so that the widget starts with my second-most-recent post?

Hi everybody
I have a problem with expandable posts. I noticed that this is not a recent problem and not just mine..
The hack that hans suggested here http://beautifulbeta.blogspot.com/2006/09/super-peek-boo-posts.html
seems to work only in the first page: in the older pages the show/hide menu appears at the bottom of every post, even if it is unwanted. And it is at the bottom, useless, with no text to show or hide.
Is there any solution to this problem?
Thank you
Andrea

I've been studying the html for adding a second sidebar. It's not working well at all and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the template choice that I've made. I'm using Mr. Moto that I found within the template choices that Blogger offers. Could this affect the ability to use the html that Hans has suggested?

What I'm trying to do, ideally, is have a separate "Labels" list that functions in all aspects the same way that the existing one does. If there's any way to bypass adding a whole left sidebar and adding the second "Labels' List" to the existing sidebar, that would be super.

If not, is there a way to configure the appearance of the items on the existing Labels List by color, type style or font size?

In a typical table of contents the content goes from the front to back. I would like to make the TOC on my blog default to oldest post first by date to newest by date. Right now it defaults to post in alphabetical order. This means the post are completely out of order by date.

You can click the date a few times and then it gets in order by date, oldest, newest. Unfortunately, my typical reader is not likely to figure that out and I doubt newbies are going to take the time.

The TOC is an awesome feature in my belief. But, I also think to make it effective the content on the blog has to come up in order, oldest to newest.

Can anyone help?

Bobby

Hi Hans:

I must have done something wrong because I added this feature to my blog, but now don't have perma-links. Yes, according to my "Settings," they should be there, but if you click on the post's title, it takes you to the page but the text doesn't show up any longer.

Any idea where I went wrong? Thanks in advance for any assistance you can lend!

On the Horizon

Hi,

I have searched the web for this particular hack, but have had no success so far. The closest hack is on Hoctro's blog: http://hoctro.blogspot.com/2006/12/killer-hack-contents-by-category.html , but I want to display the post titles in a drop-down list, and not the way this hack displays them.

Basically, I want to be able to create drop-down lists in the sidebar using a widget that will display post titles for one or more specific label(s) that I input. Selecting a post title from the drop-down list will load that post in the blog.

I'm using the new blogger, and do not want to use del.ici.ous or any other tagging websites.

I will appreciate any help with this hack.

Thanks.
-Amit

The "Peek-A-Boo Posts" script works brilliantly with blogger, and makes blogger look neat as never before.

I was wondering if we could do something with COMMENTS part, do comment with "Peek-A-Boo" too.

Second, could we change "Links to this post" to "Trackbacks" like Wordpress does, which even shows the message the other bloggers link you with.

Manys thanks for your transcendent techniques and your unselfish kindness, which contributes to the enormous betterment of blogging experience!

Hi, I'm using your 'recent posts widget', which is a marvellous script indeed.

But when I use it just to show Titles of recent post, ( no summary, no post dates), it seems the line space between titles are a bit too wide, i'd like to shorten the line spacing between titles, how could we accomplish this in Blogger template.

Thanks for you time.

Greetings,

I would like to have a page, listing all of my labels (of course all clickable):
label1, label2, label3,…etc.
(I know that it is possible to have this listing on the main page. But this is not my case.)
Is it possible to attain this by using the widget tags, or should I use Javascript, Ajax, whatever?
Can i assign a specific url to the globally available data tags? (Say "http://myblog.blogspot.com/subjects".)

Thanks,

Dr. Minorka

Hi Hans!

I received a couple of mails asking me how to implement your recent comments hack as i have it on my blog, i gave them your blog adress so that they could install it, unfortunally not everyone is fluent in English to follow the instructions, so i started to translate your hacks and the pages used to customize them, making mirrors of the scripts and pages in Portuguese, i was going to translate some more but is it ok to do it? i maintained the credits!

http://www.ricardouk.blogspot
